We have made our best efforts to include as much information as possible pertaining to paralympic sports    in our website www.pcpunjab.org  Achievements of our athletes especially in International Competitions have been described in details besides sporting activities at National level have also been elucidated.  I hope our members are deriving full advantage of our website.  I would like to give further details of latest developments which should be of interest to our members.

I am very thankful to Mr Parkash Singh Badal, Bibi Rajinder kaur Bhattal and all Mla’s from Punjab    who had agreed to play a cricket  match  for the support paralympic committee of Punjab .I am really thankful to the Punjab government  for finally accepting our long outstanding recommendation regarding the cash incentives for the physically challenged sports persons .The Govt. has agreed to treat all those who win medal in any international event ,will be awarded Rs 5 lakh , 3lakh and 2 lakh respectively  This is a great step by the Government for the support of the disabled athletes .This will primarily help in improving paralympic sports standards in Punjab.

I am delighted to inform that we have already secured 1 Olympic Quota for 2008 Bejing Paraliypic Games and My heartiest congratulations to Rajinder Singh Rahelu (Arjuna Awardee) who worked hard to bag this quota and for winning silver open world power lifting championship Kuala Lumpur  Malaysia Dec 2007 and silver in 2^nd APC Power lifting championships Malaysia dec 2007 .   We are going to hire highly experienced international coaches for the our athletes, so that they can get the best coaching and training.  Our athletes have been previously missing the Olympic quotas by a very narrow margin and I hope they will overcome whatever weakness they have and come out with flying colors in forthcoming championships.

Since the beginning of this year, our athletes both seniors and juniors were given ample opportunities to train themselves for competitions .I hope this will prove very useful and they would make India proud by their memorable performance.
